Be Nice to Yourself
If you're struggling to be nice to yourself, do something nice for someone else. Then, compliment yourself on doing it!
Emotional well-being refers to the emotional quality an individual experiences. Emotional well-being is influenced by a variety of demographic, economic, and situational factors. The implications of decreased emotional well-being are related to mental health concerns such as stress, depression, and anxiety. These in turn, contribute to physical health concerns such as digestive disorders, sleep disturbances, and general lack of energy.
If you're struggling to be nice to yourself, do something nice for someone else. Then, compliment yourself on doing it!
Examples could be, “I am a loving person and I deserve love,” or, “I am happy and healthy, physically and emotionally. Practice positive affirmations daily!
Practice forgiveness and moving forward in life, still being aware of what you have learned from your life experiences. Communicate in a safe and non-aggressive way.
Fatty acids, B vitamins, calcium & magnesium to relax body and muscles, valerian root or kava for anxiety or better sleep and St. John’s wort for depression. Take supplements.
Regular exercise can lower body weight, blood pressure, cholesterol. Exercise makes your body, mind & heart happy and is a good prevention for depression. Exercise daily!
Break food habits/abuses, especially to psychoactive foods such as sugar, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, wheat products. Eat a diet lower in sugars to stabilize mood.
Words can be deeply hurtful. Learn to express anger in safe and non-hurtful ways. Work it out through physical activity then heal problems through constructive communication.
Listen fully before responding to avoid vicious or violent arguments that could separate you further from loved ones and cause emotional damage. Heal conflicts by listening.
These might be smoking, alcohol or drug abuse, or acting out toward others from deep-seated frustration and anger. Seek support to heal addictive behaviors.
They reinforce each other. With these feelings, you will treat yourself and others with the highest regard. Find friends that support your growth and life of healthy habits.
