  • 3rd leading case of death for 15-24 yrs. olds. 
  • 10th leading cause of death in America. 
  • More than 48K Americans lost their lives to suicide in 2018 with near 1.5 million attempts (estimated). * 
  • More than 50% of those who die by suicide had no known mental health diagnosis. 
  • White, middle-aged men have the highest rate of suicide. * 
  • From 1999 to 2016, rates of suicide have increased in almost every state from 18% to 58% and continue to climb. 
  • Females attempt suicide more often; more men die by suicide. 
  • Suicide most often results from relationship issues, a crisis, substance abuse, and then because of health issues respectively.** 
  • Most suicides are completed with a gun or by hanging. 

Suicide is Preventable: If you think someone is suicidal, don't leave that person alone.
