Planning trips require a lot of creative problem-solving and specific skills – that’s why there’s a whole industry with professionals who manage travel. If you’re not a travel agent, then cut yourself some slack! It’s normal to feel a little stressed out by that complicated process. It’s essential to be adaptable and keep a cool head when traveling. Here are some tips to help you manage your stress on a trip:

  • Be open-minded – “The only difference between an adventure and an ordeal is your attitude.” A positive attitude and adaptability will help you enjoy yourself even when things go wrong.
  • Have a backup plan in case something goes awry.
  • Communicate clearly with loved ones and share travel plans ahead of time, so you don’t have to worry about updating them during travel
  • Whenever possible, give yourself an extra day or two, or even a few hours when planning travel as a buffer.
